Would anyone know when the trestle was replaced with the fill?

Since this is fill which replaced a trestle bridge, perhaps the track had to be centered to avert ground settling problems.

One would presume the kink in the track is where double track becomes single. However, I cannot see a switch in the photo. There was considerable single track on Euclid and also Arlington. The location of this shot is on Euclid Ave. in Berkeley in front of the Berkeley Rose Garden, between Eunice St. and Bay View St. The car is headed north on Euclid to Regal Road, end of the line. Route 3 ran out Grove Street (now known as MLK) from downtown Oakland.
