Clarksburg_Branch_facing_Sacramento

A view of the Clarksburg Branch heading back to Riverview. These tracks were used by the Yolo Shortline, but were abandoned when Sierra Railway took ownership. These tracks may soon be removed.

i was the conductor on one of the last trains that went this far down the line. I was working for the sierra northern as a engineer and conductor. my partner and i got call out on a sunday afternoon to transfer tank cars from west sac to the switch back that went to the old sugar mill . man that was some scarry track. we hauled a big string of them to the bottom of this hill and because the switch lead was only long enough for our gp-9 and three cars thats what we did long and monoious but it was a beatiful day. got lots more good stories about running over the old snrr (Found an old snrr sign once)
