This is the Ohmer flagstop, located near the present North Concord BART station. This point is roughly half-way between Concord and Clyde.

The concrete railings are the bridge over highway 4 which was a two lane highway at the time. At the left you can see "picket fence type concrete railing for the Port Chicago Highway bridge over Highway 4.

Yes this is where the 2 BART Rail Trains had trouble getting over "Ohmer Hill", toward Concord. The first train had to back up all the way to the Naval Weapons Station after not being able to get over the hill the first try. It took 2 trys and full throttle to get over the hill. There use to be an area for a "Speeders" to get off the tracks, just several yards before this photo.
