I rode the full length of this ex-IER trackage on Lincoln Avenue in Alameda on April 8, 1956 behind SP "steam" loco # 1796, a 2-6-0, pulling four coaches. It was a BAERA fan trip. This trackage stayed intact for many years after IER gave up in 1941. "Key Route Ken"...

all the kids at haight school would run to the fence in the school yard to watch all the trains go down lincoln ave , and then they went away and we didn,t know why.
